My 2 1/2 year son Jaxon was born with mild hearing loss in his left ear and mild to moderate hearing loss in his right ear. He was fitted with hearing aides at age 6 months. My daughter, Kendall, 9 months, was diagnosed as having mild hearing loss (30 decibals) in both ears at age 2 months. We are waiting on a behavioral hearing test to confirm these results, and then she will most likely get hearing aides as well. I have an HMO, and it has been time consuming getting referrals for everything my children need as far as their hearing goes.
